Multi Cavity PET Preform Mold

We design the layout of a multi cavity PET preform mold using a natural balance algorithm, where the distance and number of bends from the sprue to each cavity are identical. This inherent hydraulic balance means that even open hot-tip systems can run with minimal weight variation. For valve-gated systems, the balance is even finer, allowing process windows to be widened.

No two cavities are perfectly identical due to manufacturing tolerances. A multi cavity PET preform mold offers per-nozzle heater trim capability, enabling technicians to tweak the temperature of a specific cavity by ±5°C. This fine-tuning can compensate for minor flow resistance differences, reducing the overall cavity weight standard deviation to an industry-leading 0.06 g.

Time spent changing a damaged core pin directly costs production. In this multi cavity PET preform mold, core pins can be unscrewed from the front side of the moving half without dismantling the entire ejector assembly. A single faulty core can be replaced in under 20 minutes, restoring full cavitation quickly.

The structural integrity of a multi cavity PET preform mold is suited to extreme thin-wall applications. We use high-strength core pin alloys with super-polished surfaces to allow demolding of preforms with draft angles as low as 0.15 degrees. This enables you to push lightweighting limits, reducing resin consumption across millions of preforms while maintaining blow molding feasibility.

This preform mold can be optionally equipped with miniature piezo-electric sensors , allowing your control system to immediately detect any filling imbalance, gate freeze-off, or changes in material viscosity.
